Park passes for easier access
Texas Parklands Passport: Disability
The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department offers a free Disability passport for Texas state parks that charge an entry fee.
- The pass holder and one companion each pay half the entry fee, rounded up to the next whole dollar.
- You renew it every year.
- You can get it at any state park.
- Bring a photo ID plus one proof, such as a Social Security benefits letter saying you're permanently disabled, a disability license plate registration from the last year, a blue permanent disability placard issued in the last four years, or a signed statement from a licensed medical professional.
- The pass doesn't guarantee entry when a park is full.

Federal Access Pass
The America the Beautiful Access Pass is free for U.S. citizens and residents with a permanent disability. It covers entrance and standard day-use fees at federal sites, including national parks and lands run by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
At Canyon Lake, the Corps says the Access Pass gives free use of day-use areas and half off camping fees at the parks the Corps runs itself. Canyon Park and Comal Park are run by a local partner under a lease, so check with them; the Corps lists their phone number as (830) 907-2300.
